Working with refugees
One of the most vulnerable groups to human trafficking and modern day slavery are refugees. They are easy victims in their desperate attempt to flee their homelands. They are easy victims on the journeys. And in Malaysia, because they have no rights, they are vulnerable because they have so little protection.

As part of a longer-term approach to tackling human trafficking, the Penang Stop Human Trafficking Campaign has developed very close work with the refugee community in Penang.

This work is based on our Core Principles, emphasising refugee empowerment and self-determination.

So recent efforts have focussed much more on supporting this work which is consolidated under the Penang Refugee Network, so please check its website for more details.
